Boone Tunnel - North End
Easily accessible tunnel right along US 68. There's even a pull off.
Built between 1926 and 1927 this historical tunnel once had a bridge called the Brooklyn Bridge that extended across the Kentucky River just beyond the south entrance. On November 30, 1953, a heavy food service truck caused a section of the 82 year old bridge to collapse. The tunnel closed for use in 1956.
